I had a dream exactly one year ago where I cannot get rid of this black stain. This black stain is some kind of black magic residue from magic cast upon me by an enemy that I am trying in vain to beat in a duel. I realize as I get exhausted by the vain fight, that it must be so because I had accepted the mark willingly, and that is why I cannot get rid of it. As I woke up, a further realization dawned on me that I must have accepted the Dark Marking because, on some level, I either want it or need it.
This reminds me of what an old alchemist once told me about the Maiden and the Dragon –

It needs to conjoin with the darkness, again and again, until it is stabilized.
This is depicted in the ancient myth wherein the virgin, who is a willing sacrificial victim, agrees to become the dragon’s bride, to appease him on behalf of the community.
This is the reason why to see a wedding carriage or procession was deemed an ill omen traditionally in Slavic dream interpretation!
It is because she is being led to her death, or so everyone believes.
In the end, nobody knew what ever happened between her and the dragon, as nobody was there to tell.
